- Introduction from Ren -

MechScape World began as the first
MechScape fan site back in 2007 and has been doing its best to research
and discuss the game ever since. We have definitely matured a lot, and
very recently there have been a number of exciting developments which I
feel warranted this e-mail. I am proud to be both a founder and member
of staff for MechScape World, but more importantly I am proud to be a
member of its community.

- Working closer with Jagex (by mike470) -

Jagex\'s
new CEO recently said that they "plan to work closely with responsible
fan sites to support them in every way we can". We experienced this
first hand as Jagex literally called up Ren and discussed how they
would like to work more closely with MechScape World. As a result of
this, Jagex has been very kind by giving us exclusive concept art, a
MechScape Q&A answered by the Head of MechScape himself, and the
prospect of more in the future.

- New staff and weekly editorials (by mike470) -

I
would like to welcome all the new staff members to the MechScape World
Team! To make sure we are prepared for MechScape\'s upcoming release, we
decided that it was time to recruit new staff members to both the
Content Research Team (for creating guides and collecting information)
and to the Writing & Editing Team (for writing articles and acting
as content editors). With these new additions to the staff, we believe
we are more prepared than ever for the release of MechScape.

We
have now started the MechScape Post which will be released every
Saturday. This will centre on an editorial written by one of our staff
writers and will also feature other items of interest such as a summary
of noteworthy forum threads relating to MechScape and its community as
collated by the Content Research Team. The first issue focusses on Clan
Leadership and is available to view now.

- Closing thoughts from PoultryChamp -

Tough
economic times have made us see the downside of most things these days,
but there is one industry still to boom and flower - the gaming
industry. We\'ve seen Jagex go from an operation struggling to meet its
costs to the largest independent games developer in the United Kingdom,
and with the release of MechScape close on the horizon we expect this
trend to continue. We at MechScape World have also been doing better
than ever, going from 300 daily users in October 2008 to a recent
average of over 2, 000 visitors a day. Thanks to our burgeoning
community, dedicated staff, exclusive content from Jagex and increased
interest in the game things are looking great for MechScape World. We
hope that you\'ll continue to be a part of, and contribute to, the
success of our website.
